N t S Original Towel – 御多織る

Towels have long been a familiar part of everyday life in Japan, often given as gifts for celebrations, thank-yous, and special occasions.

For this N t S original towel, we wanted to bring that simple Japanese tradition to Australia — with a playful twist.

The wrapping features 「御多織る」(O-taoru), a playful take on the traditional Japanese gift-giving expression 「御タオル」, designed to look like the kind of packaging once used by Japanese companies in the Showa era.

We deliberately embraced this nostalgic, old-fashioned aesthetic. What once looked ordinary and dated now feels fresh, distinctive, and surprisingly cool — a retro Japanese design that has come full circle.
